OULANKA & NUORTTIJOKI

Aiheeton, Landscape

This summer’s hiking trip was a little different from the previous ones. This time my hiking partner was my father. Since I was a child we have been talking that we should do some hiking together. Well past 6 years I’ve been in Lapland every year and now it was a good time to go there with my father.

First we did a little day hike in Oulanka National Park. With this day hike we wanted to see how my 64 year old father’s legs were working. Happily he did ok and next we headed towards the southern part of the Urho Kekkonen National Park (UKK). Both of these national parks I have visited before, but the trail in UKK was new to me. We did Nuortti hiking trail which is 40km long and the trail goes by side the Nuortti river. Not too long, but long enough to experience wilderness of Lapland. It went well and my father’s legs worked well. We hiked totally 55km at that week.

Here are the best photos from this adventure.
